We hope you and your family continue to do well during this time. We are blessed that we have continued to have a small number of COVID-19 cases in northern Michigan and are excited that things have stabilized enough in the state that restrictions are being lifted and we can talk with more certainty about the upcoming season.
The staff at Mackinac State Historic Parks continue to work remotely during this time but is working hard to make sure the 2020 season is what you expect when sites open. Membership renewals and donations are still being processed and we are getting caught up in mailing our membership cards. We will be caught up by the time the sites open. Because of some changes in office operations once we go back to the office, it still may take us a few extra days to get membership packets out compared to our normal turnaround time. Each ticket location will also have a current membership roster available to them in case you don’t have your updated card yet. You can just present your picture ID and they can verify your membership.
It is hard to keep up with the rapidly changing environment, so we wanted to take a few moments to provide some updates regarding the Mackinac State Historic Parks 2020 125th anniversary season and Mackinac Associates events. Please view the updated event information on our Events page.
We know these are uncertain times and there are questions we don’t have clear answers to.
In the meantime, Mackinac State Historic Parks has launched “Explore at Home.” Explore the history of the Straits of Mackinac and our historic sites with online exhibits, exciting videos, educational materials and more!
