Behind the Scenes: Tea & Trade

Date: Friday, August 8, 2025

Join us as we spill the tea on historic politics, gritty colonial business practices and the impact of tea and tea culture on the community at Michilimackinac. Held in the British Trader’s House in Colonial Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City. There is no cost to attend the tour but RSVP is requested.

Mackinac National Park 150th Celebration

Date: Saturday, August 9, 2025

This celebration will mark 150 years since the Mackinac National Park was established, laying the foundation for the preservation efforts on Mackinac Island. The event will also highlight the major renovation of the Soldiers’ Barracks and the new documentary “A Pride of Purpose: The Story of Mackinac National Park.”

Mackinac Associates Annual Meeting at
Colonial Michilimackinac

Date: Sunday, August 17, 2025

Join us in Mackinaw City for the annual Mackinac Associates Member Meeting! Learn about what exciting projects we have on the horizon, including a major park redesign. The program will be followed by a short business meeting and election of board of trustees members. 

Enter through the special event gate entrance near the Fort Fudge Shop.

Art Contest Open House & Reception

June 2026

Mackinac Associates and the Mackinac Island Arts Council award prizes to the artists who best capture the year’s theme, Echoes of the Island: A Journey Through Time. The event includes a reception and open house at the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum.

G. Mennen Williams Mackinac Celebration

Named in honor of Governor "Soapy" Williams, the G. Mennen Williams Mackinac Celebration exemplifies our love for Mackinac Island's rich history and Governor Williams' key role in 1958 in bringing together local leaders, historians, and politicians to support the historic restoration and professional museum program at Mackinac State Historic Parks.

Mackinac Associates Red, White and Blue Celebration

Saturday, July 4, 2026

A great way to continue the holiday festivities, join fellow Mackinac Associates members for a Fourth of July reception at the Huron Road Pavilion near Fort Mackinac. The fort will be open for fireworks viewing from the island later in the evening. This event is free for Mackinac Associates members.

Do you ever wonder where Mackinac State Historic Parks keeps all of the items in their collection that aren't on display? Now is your chance to find out! Join us for this behind the scenes members-only program at the Heritage Center on Mackinac Island. There is no cost to attend the tour but RSVP is required. Limited to 30 people.
